Blog Candy Giveaway Winner!
So sorry, I meant to post this yesterday… but the day got away from me!
The WINNER is Melissa W. for her sweet comment on the Cracker Box Treats! She’s won a Brand New Stamp Set from the Spring Mini Catalog that goes live on January 4th called “Let’s Chat.” This is a cute set that has a bit of a retro feel and can be used for many occasions. Watch for your gift to arrive soon and I hope you enjoy it!
I’m not allowed to post a photo of the actual stamp set until January 4th, but here’s an image of a card made with the set! But, if you have the new Spring Mini Catalog, you can see it on page 45.
Now, how about a little Boxing Day history for those who don’t know what it is…
During the Victorian era, servants, tradespeople, and the poor typically were given presents. The servants worked on Christmas Day and would have the day after Christmas off to visit their own families. The upper class would take leftover food, goods or money and put into boxes to give out to the poor.
Today Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and other Commonwealth countries celebrate Boxing Day on December 26, the day after Christmas, as a Public or Bank Holiday (meaning a paid holiday). In modern times, it’s become a day that tradespeople, employees, etc. receive gifts or gratuities from their customers or employers.
I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas Day and enjoy the rest of your Holiday Season.
I’ll be back to more regular posting in January, I typically take the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day to reflect and re-group, much needed after all the hustle and bustle.
